Something new for me

Weekly Reset Routines

This week I learned about something new. A weekly reset routine popped up in my YouTube recommendeds, and I watched every minute of that video, my mind filling with ideas. This week, I’m still working on figuring out what all I’d like to include in my weekly reset, but I’ve been doing a majority of my deep cleaning on Sundays for months. It’s nice to go into a week with a super clean apartment. This week I’m working on incorporating more self-maintenance items that usually fall by the wayside during a busy week. Things like painting my nails, face masks, and exfoliating that give me a huge confidence boost when they happen, but aren’t a necessity. Something else I’m looking to add is weekly blogging about my progress. I think it’ll help provide me with some clarity as well as keep me accountable. Another thing I’ll be doing is making a concerted effort to learn more about issues affecting minority groups, whether that be on the basis of race, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability status, etc. I want to make sure I am the best human I can be, and learning how to best live my life as an ally to all is something that’s very important to me. Lastly, I’ll be working on setting myself up for a productive work week. Basically, each week I’ll go through my computer for 15 minutes and organize files so that I’ll have an easier week with less stress.

Weekly Progress Update

This week I’ve actually gained weight. I wasn’t super thrilled about that, but I recognize that this is my body’s response to me being sick and lacking on sleep. To combat this in the future, I’m really working on sleeping better and more this week. I’ll be meditating more so that I don’t carry stress to sleep with me, and doing a better job of hydrating throughout the day. Lastly, I’ll be making sure to avoid caffeine after 1pm. I don’t drink a ton of caffeinated beverages as it, but I noticed an uptick during this past week since I was so tired, but this then led to me not being able to fall asleep. I have been moving more this week though. I went for a run, and did two other workouts. I walked more, and volunteered twice this weekend. One other major thing. I got my second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine this weekend. I’m excited about this because I will not feel more comfortable going out in public for errands/etc. I don’t want to be a danger to others by carrying out basic tasks, so this will help to ease my mind.
