I said it, and it’s definitely true for me. It’s really nice to have a day where I just focus on doing stuff for myself. Whether that means cleaning up my space so I’m ready for a new week, or doing a much needed hair mask, Sunday’s are very quickly becoming my favorite day. Here’s just a few things I’ve made time for on Sundays that I previously didn’t do:
- Hair Mask
- Face Mask
- Relaxing bath
- Manicure (at home ofc)
- Wash bedsheets
- Reading
- Playing cello
- Sunbathing (with lots of sunscreen!)
- Some light planning for the week
So as you can see, I’ve been able to make time for a lot of things that I previously did not do, or didn’t do on Sundays. Taking time to do this has been really calming, and even though I do make a to-do list for myself on Sunday, most of the items on it are just goals. They don’t need to happen, but they are on my radar for the week, so if I don’t finish them on Sunday, I just make a little bit of time for it during my week.
Lastly, I try to spend a lot of time on my Sundays just hanging out with friends and family. The pandemic has left me somewhat deprived of seeing my friends frequently, which was quite the change given that before the pandemic began, I saw friends almost everyday of the week. The pandemic pairing with graduating college and some of my friends leaving to move on to new adventures in new places really decreased my in person social life. Hanging out with friends now looks a bit different, sometimes it’s virtual, like playing video games and talking on a call, sometimes it’s socially distant or masked up, and sometimes it’s just been testing or snapchats. Either way, carving out time to be present with my friends and family has been incredible.
